Sozopol enjoys many beaches ranging from entertainment-driven within city limits to desolate ones within walking distance. In the town there are 2 gold-sand beaches. Central beach is the most popular and easiest to reach. Harmani beach is wider and longer than Central beach and located in the new town of Sozopol. 3 km/1.5mi north of Sozopol is located the Golden Fish beach, which is very popular with campers and wind-surfers.
Central Beach

Located between the old and the new town of Sozopol. Easily reached and very popular, it becomes crowded during July and August. Entering the beach is free of charge. Umbrellas and chairs available for a small fee. If you do not want to use any of these facilities, there is plenty of space to lie down especially the two ends of the beach.

Harmani Beach
Located in the new town of Sozopol. This beach is wider and longer than the Central beach, so it can be a better option if you prefer quiet especially during the busy months of July and August. A big number of small restaurants and places to eat and drink are located nearby this beach. Entering the beach is free of charge. Umbrellas and chairs available for a small fee. If you do not want to use any of these facilities, there is plenty of space to lie down especially the two ends of the beach.
Recently, an ancient necropolis was found on the Harmani beach and is currently being excavated. Browsing through ancient graves is another diversion the beach offers. See pictures for more detail.

Golden Fish beach (3 km north from Sozopol)

The beach used to be visited by Bulgarian kings in pre-Communist Bulgaria and is also called King’s beach. One can walk, take a cab, or take a boat from the Sozopol port, which is a very enjoyable 20 min ride.
This is actually the beach of a camping site called Golden Fish, popular with surfers. The nearby Surf school offers hiring of windsurf. The beach is long and wide enough, and quite calm compared to the other beaches around. You can enter it by your car.
Topless sunbathing is allowed (as in any other beach), nudists are officially not allowed here, but there are some at the end of the beach. Umbrellas and chairs available for a small fee. One or two small restaurants around offer fast food and soups.
Kavaci beach (3 km south from Sozopol)
The Kavaci beach is near to Sozopol.
This beach is good for camping and it is long and wide, and quite calm compared to the other beaches around.
